This weekend I was part of the last issue of 24 magazine. It was an incredible experience, and I’m so sorry it’s over, and I dearly hope I get to work with these people again.
You can read the whole gorgeous thing here and order a copy.
Here’s some of my favorite photos I took, most of which did not make it into the issue (and a few of which did). Click any image to embiggen.
These last 9 are from a project I did with Rose Ginsberg and Emily Kadish, to stage 9 scenes from Shakespeare in the space we had over the 24 hours and photograph them. I’m very pleased with how most of them came out.
Richard III, Act 1, Scene 2 (Lady Anne and Richard III)
A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Act 2, Scene 2 (Helena and Demetrius)
The Merchant of Venice, Act 2, Scene 6 (Jessica and Lorenzo, cross-cast)
King Lear, Act 3, Scene 4 (Lear and the Fool)
Macbeth, Act 5, Scene 1 (Lady Macbeth)
Much Ado ABout Nothing, Act 4, Scene 2 (Dogberry, Verges, Conrad and Borachio)
Hamlet, Act 3, Scene 4 (Hamlet, Gertrude, Polonius)
Romeo and Juliet, Act 3, Scene 5 (Romeo and Juliet)
and finally, The Tempest (Ariel, The Boatswain, and Prospero)
This last one especially — Sara as Prospero, and the magazine taking shape around her as the tempest itself.
